The DT-50117 Protector consists of a tapered micro-finish smooth-bore cylinder and 2 clips to hold the cylinder down on the 6T40, 6T50 clutch piston. The cylinder ID gradually compresses the 4-5-6 dam seal and protects it from damage or rolling while the previously essential DT-47951-2 compresses the dam spring. With the spring compressed, the seal is pushed by hand and seated in the clutch piston bore while the retaining ring is installed.
