The outer hub bearing cone on full-floating rear axles is installed before the bearing cup, and the cup must be installed over the bearing without damage to either. The bearing cup is placed into the bore in the hub over the bearing cone, and driven in with DT-50290 and J-8092 until the cup is just past the retaining ring groove, NOT fully seated. DT-50290 pilots into the cone to center itself, and drives the cup squarely into the bore.
