Kent-Moore EN-48108 Installer, Rear Crankshaft Seal
The rear main seal is shipped on a nylon disc to prevent damage to the inner lip. Removing the seal from this disc and installing on existing seal installer J-34686 can damage the inner seal lip. EN-48108 has a pilot that attaches to the back of the crankshaft, and the seal and disc assembly is placed onto this pilot. The installer portion of EN-48108 is placed over the pilot stud, and its bolt and thrust washer are tightened to draw the seal into its designed position. Unapproved installation methods will damage or mis-position the seal, resulting in less than optimal seal life.
Applications include G6, Lucerne, Captiva Sport, Malibu, Saturn Vue and other passenger vehicles.
