For General Motors. C/K S/T Beginning in 1996, some trucks will feature a new park lock cable assembly which has a very tight ring-type locking connection. When an adjustment must be made to the cable, the J-41396 pliers are required to release the park lock connection so the cable can slide through the lock ring. The tool is then reversed and used to lock the cable in place. On the past model vehicles the ring had a loose fit and could be released with conventional tools.
